goodness can be pre-packaged

I am a smoothie making machine. A smoothie constitutes second breakfast for me (first breakfast is usually museli; no I’m not a hobbit, just someone that is always hungry and plans ahead). I’ll make a smoothie for snack or lunch, and maybe a dessert smoothie for after lunch. I have tried all brands of greens powder and plant based proteins. So when I first discovered ALOHA on Instagram, I was naturally very curious.
ALOHA is a company based in New York with roots in Hawaii that distributes pre-packaged dietary supplements in the form of “greens” and proteins (and chocolates!). Now what sets them apart from what you typically find in GNC is, well actually several things.

Ingredients are sustainably sourced – they search for the raw materials and don’t cut corners just to find a cheaper alternative. But not only do they start with the ingredients, they take it a step further to ensure they are using sustainable methods to package and ship, as well simple every day life like cleaning their showroom in NY. Here is what they tell us about their product ingredients:

“Most of our ingredients are sourced in the United States from organic farms or reputable vendors certified for Good Manufacturing Practices. We always look for certifications such as organic, non-GMO, and Kosher. Some of our exotic superfoods and herbs come from overseas because that is where they are traditionally grown. Our wild-harvested ingredients are hand-picked in pristine wilderness.

We source the majority of fresh produce in our powders from markets local to our manufacturing facility in the United States as this requires less energy for transportation and supports small organic farms in our communities.”

Packaging is 100% recycled materials and 100% recyclable afterwards. Don’t get bent out of shape that the greens powder is individually wrapped – compost that sucker! Don’t compost? Dissolve it in water. Aren’t too concerned anyways? It will biodegrade in a landfill after all.

Products are manufactured in the USA. Here is how their Greens powder is different from others on the market:

Our ingredients, drying process, sourcing, and testing truly set the Daily Good Greens apart!

The Daily Good Greens is a simple formula – instead of hundreds of ingredients in tiny amounts, our Daily Good Greens Whole Foods Powder is made from an assortment of hand-selected fruits and vegetables that give you a real nutritional boost in just the right amounts. Unlike other green powders, we don’t use isolated chemical nutrients; all of the nutrients in the Daily Good Greens Whole Foods Powder come from real, whole foods!
Because the Daily Good Greens is a whole foods powder, it is extremely versatile! Although you can mix it into water, juices and smoothies, you can also mix it into just about anything!  Check out some of our recipes for inspiration!

To create our Daily Good Greens we gently dry our whole fruits and vegetables at low temperatures using a patented process that zaps the moisture out and leaves the nutrients in tact.”

They give back! Check out Project Hawaii and the initiatives they support. Still have questions about ALOHA? Read over their FAQs.

ALOHA smoothieSo I bought their chocolate ALOHA Protein and the Daily Good Greens powder. When it arrived, I immediately had to test it out! Banana + Coconut Shreds + Almond Milk + Chocolate Protein = one delicious smoothie/shake ! Tastes like dessert, but only composed of good-for-you things, no doubt. The greens powder is just as versatile – since it is not created with any chemicals, you can literally use it in so many different recipes that are not smoothies or shakes. Like these Avocado Superfood Deviled Eggs (whaaa!?) and Crispy Green Goddess Falafel. Hello, creative!
