About

This blog is an expression of all things sea, field and tribe. Each has a particular meaning to us that we desire to share with you. The sea represents our love for the ocean and a calling to protect and study marine life. The field encompasses our desire to live outdoors and experience all that nature is through exploring, wandering and cultivating. And tribe is literally our tribe: family, friends and those whom we love and support.

Chelsea  |  sea, field & tribe

Hello there, friend. Welcome to my blog. My name is Chelsea and I’m a marine scientist living and studying in the beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. I’m originally from the Lone Star State of Texas, born and raised on a small, quiet cattle ranch where I fell in love with the outdoors. However, my passion was with the ocean, so I uprooted to Florida where I lived for five years before continuing my graduate education here in Puerto Rico. I’m a follower of Christ and I love drinking tea, vintage shops, curiosities, dabbling with basic homesteading and learning to live a more sustainable life. I spend the majority of my time outside, diving in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean or hiking through the jungle and fields of the interior island. I love to explore and collect. I live with my marine scientist husband, Evan, and my little adventurous dog, Sophie. We both enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures and sharing our love for the outdoors.

Lou |  Papaya + Lime

I am a rookie vegan,  hopeless romantic and an explorer of the path of compassionate living. Just recently my partner and I took a leap of faith and quit our jobs, home and life in London’s concrete jungle to follow our dream of simple living on the ‘island of the gods’; Bali, Indonesia. Nine months ago I discovered a language closest to my soul; becoming consciously aware of my actions from the food on my fork to the power of positive thought. By mindfully transferring my values to spiritual wealth and happiness I have been led to this beautiful place where I hope to share with you some of my stories. Thriving on a diet of abundant tropical fruits and fresh vegetables, daily practice of yoga and mindful meditation, finding a deeper connection with the earth and bountiful nature around me here are all the new adventures I will attempt to bring to life for you. Along with all the wrong turns and mis-steps I make along the way!

Cait |  Sunburnt & Salty

My name is Caitlin, but you can call me Cait. I’m a professional surf bum currently living in the beautiful, beach town of Rincon, Puerto Rico where I practice and teach yoga, both on the land and on a paddleboard. I grew up on the South Carolina coast and it was here where I was introduced to the ocean and to surfing at a very young age. I discovered yoga in college after suffering a knee injury and completed my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training shortly after graduation. To me, the combination of surfing and yoga is a powerful one, and not just because they both provide an endless amount of fun, but because they both continue to teach me strength, courage, humility and perseverance. Overcoming challenges, both on the water and on the mat, reminds me that I can achieve anything that I put my mind to. It is my goal, as a teacher and a human being, to continue to share the “stoke” of surfing, yoga and SUP yoga with others, inspiring them to tap into their own strength, to find their own confidence, and to let their own light shine.
