places: eternally cold + majestic

I love the mountains in the winter. I love the mountains in the spring and summer. There is no season that I wouldn’t want to enjoy a mountain view – whether it overlooks the cold ocean or a snow drenched field below, I’d be content. One of my fondest memories as a child was camping with my family. In particular, I loved our summer trips to Colorado. The weather was perfect, the wildlife were roaming and the water was still chilly. I remember camping next to the river, where my brother and I were always tempted to get our feet wet while delicately balancing along the water’s edge, searching for fish. Colorado is one of my favorites. My parents would take us on long hikes up and down the mountains, off-road Jeep adventures to small, nestled little mountain villages, panning for gold and silver at a mining town, relaxing in natural hot springs, white water rafting down a frigid river and then finally tucked indoors listening to the sounds of the afternoon thunder storms. Wow, what memories indeed. I love those…. I hope to recreate those moments with my own children someday. And I love to reminisce about these times. Anyways, here’s more of my favorites:

For many of you, the winter chill is starting to really set in. For my Caribbean readers, perhaps you’ve noticed the cooler nights? I actually need pajama pants to lounge in my house at night right now haha. International folks in the southern hemi, I suppose you’re enjoying summertime right about now? I suppose I still enjoy summertime during the days here too hah. But I’m looking forward to the break from warm weather when I finally fly back to Texas for the holidays. Although I’m not expecting a white Christmas, I’m still pretty amp’d for a fireplace fire and chilly mornings. What are your plans for Christmas? Anyone traveling more than 5 hours away? (that’s my flight time from San Juan to Dallas)
Remember, today is the LAST day to enter the giveaway! If you haven’t already, check it out because it’s a pretty awesome prize package that I put together just for you! A great way to spoil yourself for the holiday without having to spend a penny. Good luck!
Until tomorrow,
