favorites: colorful culinary companions

I’m not sure what it says about Evan and me that the majority of the things we shipped with us to Puerto Rico were cooking supplies and cookbooks. We knew we’d be cooking a lot more than eating out, so we wanted to make sure we’d have a variety of options. So, this Friday’s favorites are my colorful culinary companions: my cookbooks.
From the top:
500 Cupcakes
Go Dairy Free (for lactose-intolerant Evan)
Arabesque : taste of Morocco, Turkey & Lebanon
The Homesick Texan (naturally for me)
Mexico: the beautiful cookbook (the best authentic Mexican cookbook ever, seriously)
What are your favorites?

  1. Mmm, definitely the Perfect cookbooks, (Perfect Greek, Perfect Thai, etc) from Parragon Publishing. They are small and cheap, with easy to follow instructions and a delicious picture for each recipe, and are neither too over the top or too basic. But more and more I use Pinterest for recipes, strangely. I can usually find unusual recipes to try out. When I do find recipes I love, from anywhere, I write them in my own notebook for a quick reference to our favourite things. Real Taste of Jamaica sounds fun…might have to try some of that out!

  2. I've never tried the Perfect series! I'll have to look into them! Thanks for the suggestion and your description is exactly what I look for in cooking ethnic dishes.
